This was a fantastic and varied walk, beginning in the mountains, then opening out as we neared the coast, veering into France for a bit, before finally arriving in San Sebastian. The itinerary even included a couple of short boat rides, which were fun. Our accommodations along the way were fantastic and always a welcome rest at the end of each day. We had some gorgeous views along the way, which kept us going, especially after some of the steeper climbs. And we really enjoyed the opportunity to take a bit of a detour to "bag a French peak" along the way. Our local guide, though we never actually met him, had great recommendations for fun places to eat and other helpful advice. The route notes provided by On Foot, along with the electronic route data they provided for the Pocket Earth app, made navigating easy and worry free. It was a wonderful eight days in the hills and along the coast!
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
We felt the whole trip was extremely well organized and everything went very smoothly. The help, guidance and advice we received from the On Foot team in planning our trip was excellent, and we couldn’t have asked for more. We did two hikes back-to-back, and their coordination and advice about our travel details between and at the end of each hike (including details about connecting trains and buses) was very useful and beyond what we expected for the sections of our trip which they weren’t planning. The local guide contacts were also super helpful, responsive and a pleasure to work with.

We had a fabulous trip, walking through very quiet and unspoiled countryside with a welcoming and cozy hotel waiting for us at the end of each day. The food and wine was wonderful and the hosts were always eager to talk to us about their local specialties. We had a few rainy days, but mostly the weather was fine and perfect for walking. All of the accommodations were great—and some were truly exceptional! The route notes provided were brilliantly detailed and accurate. Along with the electronic route data they provided for the Pocket Earth app, we had no route-finding difficulties at all. We definitely recommend On Foot and are already looking into a future trip with them.

This was our 8th self-guided walking trip with On Foot Holidays. We flew to Tenerife then caught a ferry to La Gomera, our base for the week. The walking was superb, following carefully planned routes through stunning, unspoilt mountainous scenery around the island. The accommodation en route was excellent, and the hosts very welcoming.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
On Foot Holidays provided excellent route maps and detailed notes, so getting lost was not a problem. A local route adviser was always available by phone to give assistance, provide weather forecasts or to book restaurants. Overall, On Foot Holidays provide excellent customer service, from original booking right through to returning home.

This was our 11th holiday with On Foot, and definitely up there with the best. Fascinating and varied landscapes on the volcanic island. The cloud forest was unique. The walking was on good paths. some challenging uphills, but with options to miss those if you wish. Lovely hotels with excellent breakfasts, and a mix of restaurants to try in the evenings. A couple of nights in the Parador in San Sebastián at the end of the walk was the perfect finish. Aznar, the local coordinator for the walk couldn't be more helpful. On Foot now have a new App with all the maps and information for the walk. There really isn't any excuse for taking a wrong turning!
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
We always look forward to our holidays with On Foot. We are so well looked after from booking through to the trip home. The whole team is great to deal with. Advice and recommendations are always to hand, and we have learnt will always be honest and trustworthy. Their new App which contains all the information for the holiday as well as the maps and navigation guidance will be a great asset when it is rolled out to other routes.

Excellent hiking trip walking through rolling hills of Tuscany and then climbing up to hilltop towns at the end of the day. The countryside is beautiful, even when it rained. Bring poles for sure as the clay soil in Tuscany is incredibly slippery in the rain. We stayed an extra night in Montalcino and 2 nights in Montepulciano. Highly recommend as there is so much to see around and in the towns.

My walk through the Karst countryside was a wonderful way to experience a small section of Slovenia. The App developed by On Foot Holidays both kept me on track and gave interesting snippets of the areas I passed through, and was ideal for a solo walker. Although I also carried the maps provided, I found I didn't need them. My route traversed woods, farmland and small villages via a combination of walking tracks, gravel roads and minor surfaced roads. Even the final stage between Oipcina and Trieste, where I expected to spend a large part of the day along busy roads, took me through woodland reserves, initially with expansive views of the Gulf of Trieste. Highlights were the wildflower display over Nanos while on route to Vipava, and my visit to the spectacular Skocjan Caves. My accommodation was of a high standard, and the generous and flavorsome meals provided by my hosts were culinary delights. It was a pleasure to not have to carry a backpack, and my luggage was always delivered to my evening accommodation promptly by my cheerful and courteous driver.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
I found On Foot Holidays to be very professional, highly organised, and very easy to communicate with. The background detail was informative, and the route information was spot on. Additional information such as train and bus details and restaurant recommendations were very welcome.

We walked the Yorkshire Dales and were submerged in jaw-dropping vistas and serene beauty. Our trails and paths led us through emerald green fields and over grassy moorlands where our only company were the sheep and cows grazing in the wild. Each night was spent at a cozy inn where we relaxed with a local ale and a cozy fire. An exceptional trip planned perfectly by our friends at On Foot Holidays.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
To work with On Foot Holidays is to experience the delight of a private concierge at the price of a group tour. Their attention to detail, the wealth of information they provide to set you up for the best possible experience, it all adds up to a flawless experience. My husband and I had a wonderful 7 day walking experience walking the white villages of Andalucia, Spain. This was our second trip with OnFootHoliday (our 1st was to Cornwall, UK) and it was fantastic. The communication with the staff prior and during the trip was quick, thorough and easy. Sue, our contact while on the trip, was easy to connect with and she responded to our questions/inquiries quickly. The route was beautiful, serene and also challenging. Each village was unique, picturesque and truly reflected the history of that region of Spain. We walked through miles and miles of olive orchards on dirt paths with some occasional goats, cows or horses joining us on route. The terrain had a lot of elevation gain and we were glad we had hiking poles with us. The lodging was very comfortable and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Most of the lodging had swimming pools which we found refreshing after a long day of hiking. The OnFootHoliday app worked great. It notified us with a beeping sound when we went off the track and reassured us we were walking in the right direction when we were uncertain. We also appreciated having the printed out map and directions as back up. The restaurant recommendations and other information in the app were very helpful. Thank you OnFootHoliday for another memorable vacation. I am already dreaming of our next vacation with OnFootHoliday.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
Communication prior to booking, after we booked and while on our holiday was excellent. On Foot Holiday staff got back to us right in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. They booked our lodging and even made dinner reservations for us. The app was very helpful. Not only did it have a GPS that described our daily route, but it showed us where we were in real time and let us know when we had left the route. It provided information about each hotel we'd be staying in and helpful information about each village and information about the region. We felt supported by On Foot Holiday throughout the planning phase all the way through the end of our travels.

Was all good the new app definitely helped make life easier to navigate. Only had a couple of days of rain but we were lucky with the walking as only rained on us once and not for long. Having extra days in the villages worked well as it helped us explore the areas more. The village and country people were all so very friendly and would go out of their way to have a chat with you.

The eight-day hike through the Basque Pyrenees was delightful. The trails and terrain were varied in difficulty and scenery, and the accommodations included some of the most comfortable and quaint we’ve stayed in on similar hikes. Notable, too, was the exceptional customer service from On Foot. We were assigned a local contact that provided immediate assistance when needed, let us know about weather conditions that might have affected our day’s hike, made dinner recommendations, and even suggested a route alteration when a storm was on the horizon so we wouldn’t miss out on what was billed as the most stunning portion of the trip.in addition to the local contact, the office staff provided on-the-ground support when we had a question about the GPS file for our trip. We’ve done self-guided trips with other companies and this one with On Foot ranked at the top.

A varied walk in the mountainous region of the Priorat in the Tarragona province of Catalonia. The region has an interesting history, from stone age through medieval to the present and including the development of the Priorat wine DOC. The accommodation was generally of a high standard and the hosts universally kind and helpful. The food and wine was consistently of a excellent standard. We particularly enjoyed the mix of fantastic walking, culture, gastronomy and wine.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
This is our first trip with On Foot Holidays which we were attracted to by the region which we had not seen offered elsewhere. We have been impressed by the efficiency, communication and responsiveness to our queries. The information pack was also among the best we have seen (we have done a significant number of walking and cycling holidays over the last 20 years) with detailed instructions, good maps, detailed information and excellent on the ground support.

We are experienced Camino hikers and were looking for something quieter and more scenic. We learned of the Camino Dos Faros (Lighthouse Way) and On Foot Holidays through a magazine article. Our trip was everything we had hoped for, and more. OFH's local contact, app, accommodations, recommendations, and assistance along the way were wonderful in all respects. We spent 8 days walking through one of Spain's premiere wine regions, just outside of Barcelona. The curated route was lovely, with definite highlights being a stay at a lonely farmhouse (lovely hosts, who showed us a comet! in the night sky), a climb up to the fortress town of Siurana - a bit vertiginous but worth it! - and visits to historic monasteries. And of course the accommodations were top-notch and the food as well. We walked in mid-October and the weather was perfect for long rambling - about 18C and mostly sunny.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
On Foot provided excellent paper route notes as well as a comprehensive GPS track for use on mobile phones, so it was hard to get lost. Background information was provided and very interesting - typically including relevant history, geology, and cultural notes. The local guide was a phone call away and made sure to reach out to us at the beginning of our walk so we did not feel awkward about calling on her for support.
